The post-operative period

The hip surgeons within the Bath Orthopaedic Specialists perform several hundred hip replacements of differing types each year, according to individual patient needs.

The whole team will try and help you get over the post-operative period with advice about 'dos and don'ts'. You will normally be sent home using a pair of crutches or sticks once you are safe to walk. You will not be sent home prior to this. The team are happy to give additional information regarding returning to work, driving and sexual intercourse.
